Coronation Street Spoilers: Gail Exits Weatherfield After Near-Death Experience

Coronation Street spoilers and teasers revealed a shocking exit storyline for the soap’s legendary stalwart Gail Rodwell after a dramatic health scare.

In upcoming scenes, Gail (Helen Worth) suffers a heart attack after her children’s wrangle overwhelmed her.

First, Natasha Blakeman’s (Rachel Leskovac) bans ex-lover Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) from seeing their child Sam (Jude Riordan) due to a recent gunshot threat from drug lord Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

Second, Nick’s brother David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) outwits his mother to let the father and son see each other.

On top of it all, Nick angers sister Sarah (Tina O’Brien) with his plan to sell his shares at the factory. This is so he can spend more time with sweetheart Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

Fortunately, Sam finds her grandmama having a hard time breathing and calls for help. However, the child finds his family too busy squabbling to listen to him.

Gail bans her children from accompanying her except David and requests for mom Audrey (Sue Nicholls) before she’s rushed to the hospital.

Pouring her heart out to mom Audrey, Gail confesses she thought she’d be the queen of her castle again when she bought the house back. She then asks her if things will ever change for her, but she’s convinced it’s not the case.

“I don’t want to be just a mum, anymore. It seems like I’ve spent my whole life being a mother, totally and completely wrapped up in my kids. Is that the only thing that defines me?” she expressed.

“[I want to be] a person! Haven’t I done my bit? Do I not deserve a few years to myself at the end of it all?” she asked.

At the end of her reflection from that death scare, Gail decides to leave Weatherfield. But will something still change her mind?

“Coronation Street” Spoilers — Gail Rodwell Decides Enough Is Enough

Gail, who’s remained as the long-standing Coronation Street resident for over 47 years, makes a dramatic exit next week.

In the next episodes, Natasha and Sam visit Gail to give her a get-well card but the grandmama announces to Sam she’s leaving for Thailand and is not sure when she will return.

But the news extremely upsets the child that he heads outside to cry. Meanwhile, Leanne begs Natasha to allow Nick to spend time with his son to ease his burden.

Will Gail’s exit open a door for the rest of them to resolve things?
