Diddy Makes Excuses Following Girlfriend, Cassie’s 2016 Assault Video

Diddy Makes Excuses Following Girlfriend, Cassie's 2016 Assault VideoOn Friday, May 17, CNN released a CCTV footage of American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie (Cassandra Ventura). The soul-crushing video was from 2016 when the two were still dating.

In the video, Cassie was featured leaving a hotel room with her luggage and going towards the elevator when the music mogul caught up with her, grabbed her by the neck, and floored her.

Diddy, who had no clothes on except for a white towel wrapped around his waist, proceeded to kick Cassie while she was still on the ground. He took her bags and shoved her in the direction of the hotel room she walked out of. The camera also caught Diddy grabbing an object and throwing it at Cassie.

The released clip was a confirmation of the November 2023 lawsuit that Cassie filed against Diddy for physical and sexual assault. Although the case has been settled, the lawsuit document claimed, “Mr. Combs became extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye.”

The document continued, “After he fell asleep, Ms. Ventura tried to leave the hotel room, but as she exited, Mr. Combs awoke and began screaming at Ms. Ventura,” the lawsuit states. “He followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her. He grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape.”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs — Diddy’s Reaction To The CCTV Assault Video

After the lawsuit was filed, Diddy’s lawyer Ben Brafman said the claims were “offensive and outrageous.” He also said that the 54-year-old rapper denies all claims. “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” said Ben while adding, “For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.”

Well, after the clip of Diddy assaulting Cassie aired, there’s no argument that Cassie’s claims were true. On Sunday, May 19, Diddy shared a video of himself on Instagram with the caption, “I’m truly sorry.”

He said, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life,” Combs said in the footage. “Sometimes you gotta do that. I was f—– up. I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.

He continued, “I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man. Each and every day.” He concluded his statement by telling his fans that he’s not asking for forgiveness but he’s “truly sorry.”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs — How Cassie’s Husband Alex Fine Reacted To The Video

After watching the gory view of his wife being kicked and shoved around by her ex, Personal trainer Alex Fine, 31, shared a lengthy message addressing domestic abusers and the people protecting them. His message read: ” Letter to women and children.”

“Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men.
As men violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable, check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the upmost regard.”

He continued, “Men who hurt women hate women. To all the survivors, find the men and women who help and love. To all the survivors, your stories are real, and people believe you. To all the survivors you’re not alone, and there are men and women who care only for your well being and safety. We want you to succeed and flourish.”

“To all the women and children, I’m sorry you live in a world where you’re not protected, and you don’t feel equal. I want to raise my daughters in a world where they are safe and loved. To the abusers, you’re done, you’re not safe anymore, you’re not protected anymore, the men by your side are just as weak, you’re so miserable with yourself that death would be considered a kindness.”

Cassie, 37, and Alex got married in 2019, a year after she ended things with the rapper. The couple share two daughters.
