A high-ranking aide to former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has revealed that his principal will be making his impact felt in the social media zone, as he will be launching his platform in the next couple of weeks.
Single Hints From Donald Trump About His Social Media Platform
Jason was not specific on the exact time Trump will be putting his social media platform online, giving a two to three months timeframe at best. Trump himself has hinted he will be setting up such a platform, after his account with social media giant Twitter, was blocked in February this year. Twitter claimed that the former president was using his account to incite chaos during the protests that took place at Capitol Hill in January, days before the inauguration of Joe Biden as his successor.
The launch of Trump’s social media platform would delight most of his supporters, and other groups that have their comments censured by other popular social media channels. From the political angle, Trump is not revealed what he intends to do after been voted out of the Oval Office at the last US elections. However, he says that he will make a return to the political scene sometime in the future.
The Challenges Before Trump
Trump will face many struggles if his platform is given the go-ahead to eventually operate, as he will be competing with bigwigs like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, in the provision of cloud services for social media platforms. It is not likely that they will be willing to make their cloud hosting services available for him. His reputation has taken a nosedive since the chaotic events of January the 6th.

Apart from the cloud sharing services issue, he will also be faced with the daunting challenge of getting payment processors that will be willing to affiliate with his platform. Two of the biggest players in the payment processors industry recently cut their affiliation with the former President. Stripe removed their services from the website dedicated to the crusade and fundraising efforts of Trump, while Shopify closed all the online shops on their platform that have any kind of affiliation to him.
That leaves the door wide open for cloud hosting and payment processing firms that operate outside of the United States. It remains to be seen if they will signify interest in working with him.
There is one other thing that might become an obstacle for him in achieving his dream of launching a social media fora. In a bill signed by Trump himself, specifically section 230, web hosting firms are not liable to be sued for any text posts, videos, and pictures that are uploaded by persons that make use of their services. Ironical right?
There were moves to have this law repealed, which didn’t end up being successful. It remains to be seen if this new Congress forwards a bill to the new administration of Joe Biden to have it struck out from the constitution.
