Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos Credit ‘All My Children’ For Their Careers

Kelly Ripa recently said farewell to her popular Live With Kelly talk show co-host Ryan Seacrest. But she didn’t need to worry about getting to know Ryan’s replacement. Because Kelly just welcomed her hubby, Mark Conseulos, onto the chair that Seacrest occupied.

And as Mark and Kelly prepared for their new gig together, they also took time to look back. Mark recalled the soap opera, All My Children, that began their work together. Get all the details below.

Mark Consuelos frequently served as a guest co-host on Live With Kelly And Ryan. But when Seacrest resigned, producers decided to turn the former guest co-host into Ripa’s permanent co-host. And when Mark began his new gig, he and Kelly reflected on their gratitude to All My Children, reported MSN.

Consuelos first spent time getting ready for work. And as he shared on the Instagram page for Live With Kelly & Mark, Ripa’s hubby felt eager to start his new gig. But he also appreciated the way that All My Children gave him the opportunity to play love interests with Kelly. And what started out as a fictional soap opera story line ended up in a real life romance.

“Thank you America, thank you. Hayley and Mateo forever,” shared Conseulos, referring to his and Kelly’s characters’ names.  But one of the couple’s guests, TLC singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, loved All My Children as well. And she shared that she nearly named her son Mateo after Mark’s character. “I’ve met so many Mateos, they’re all in their mid-20s now,” Kelly Ripa revealed Mark.

Mark’s and Kelly’s daughter Lola took time to cheer her parents from the audience. And many of their fans turned to social media to respond as well. Some even referred to their soap opera past. For instance, one Twitter fan wrote, “All My Children. Good luck!”

And another tweeted, “So adorable. I’ve been waiting for this forever.” Several fans praised what one called their “great chemistry.” And another posted on social media, “I don’t watch daytime TV often. But after catching today’s show, I just want to say that you two have the best chemistry for it! Cheers guys .” Another fan gushed, “Fun & fabulous , great chemistry , so funny , good people looking forward to much more #Livekellyandmark #LiveKellyMark #Live.”

However, some fans admitted to missing Ryan Seacrest. For instance, one of the talk show’s fans wrote, “I have never seen anything more boring. Kelly was better with Ryan Seacrest. And they had fun. Bring him back please.” And another felt that Ripa seemed “bland” without Seacrest.
