Tom Cruise didn’t even need to try to stand out in the crowd at the recent luncheon for Oscars nominees. And the Mission Impossible legend quickly stole the spotlight as he joined those nominated for an Academy Award. However, some also noticed that Cruise debuted a new look for the occasion.
Find out about the Oscars nominees luncheon. And learn just how Cruise made an impression. Get all the details below.
Tom Cruise – Shows Off Deep Tan And New Hairstyle At Oscars Event
It’s never a Mission Impossible for Tom Cruise to get noticed. And the A-list actors at the Oscars luncheon this week seemed especially impressed with Cruise’s new look. A deep tan and longer hairstyle helped Tom steal the spotlight at the event at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, according to Page Six.
But some seemed surprised to see Cruise at the event. The luncheon marked Tom’s first red carpet occasion in eight months. And at 60, Tom stood out in his blue bespoke three-piece suit by Brioni. A lilac-patterned tie added to his striking appearance.
However, Twitter commentators couldn’t resist joking about some of the photos. For instance, one shared a picture of Jamie Lee Curtis looking stunned as she hugged Tom. And the fan wrote, “Jamie Lee Curtis seeing Tom Cruise’s Trump-level spray tan up close.” Another tweeted, “Tom Cruise Spray Tan Dot Tumblr Dot Com.”
A-List Actors Plead For Pics With Tom Cruise
But while some on Twitter joked, celebrities just wanted to pose for photos with Cruise. For instance, Tom visited with Jamie Lee Curtis, Michelle Yeoh, Austin Butler, Angela Bassett, Steven Spielberg, Michelle Williams and Brendan Fraser at the luncheon. However, Cruise especially spent time with the producer of his newest Top Gun franchise installment.
The newest movie earned a Best Picture nomination. And Tom grinned as he shook hands with the movie’s producer, Jerry Bruckheimer. Cruise also posed for photos with “Everything, Everywhere All at Once” star Ke Huy Quan. And he even made time to fulfill a request for a group selfie.
But despite Cruise stealing the spotlight, Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences president Janet Yang changed the upbeat mood with her speech. And she reflected on the aftermath of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. As a result, Yang promised that the organization will aim to become “fully transparent.”
However, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences president didn’t go into detail on what happened during and after that scandal. And instead, she referred to it indirectly. “I’m sure you all remember we experienced an unprecedented event at the Oscars,” said Yang. “What happened onstage was fully unacceptable and the response from our organization was inadequate.”
