As the female rap duo appeared on the show, Will confessed that he felt smitten with Denton for years. But during that time, Sandra always remained involved in a relationship with someone else. However, when she became single, Smith vowed to try to woo her.

Will Smith Wants To ‘Shoot My Shot’

And the Bad Boys For Life movie star recalled what happened. “Now, she was single,” said Will. “We was both going to be in LA at the same time.” As a result, he vowed to “shoot my shot. This girl was special,” he added.

Because Smith “wanted to impress her, I rented a white Mercedes convertible just because I needed to floss a little bit. My plan was then to take her around Hollywood Hills, drive up Mulholland and all that, watch the sunset,” recalled the Oscar winner, 55.

However, Will admitted that his seemingly romantic plan actually involved a cover-up for his fear. And he confessed that he “always faked like I had game. I didn’t really have game,” he added.

And Smith described himself as “always in this full-on, trying to give the wildest flavor of having a game. But that might have been the most terrified I had ever been trying to shoot my shot with Pepa. And I didn’t believe I had a real shot.”

But Denton, 57, offered her own recollection of that date. And she remembered how Will encountered a homeless man. “We were out and we saw a homeless person,” she recalled. “And you gave the homeless person $100. It was so nice. And then we went to the Hollywood sign.”

But Smith then confessed, “My concern was that I was going to get killed. That was my concern when I was trying to spit my game,” he said. “But I ain’t really have nothing.”

And although the romance didn’t last, the friendship did. The two agreed that they always “really got along.” However, Will then tied the knot with Jada Pinkett Smith in 1997. And Denton became involved in a short marriage to rapper Treach from 1999 to 2001.
