As Corrie fans are well aware, Adam is spot on about Gary. The murderous cad had no choice but to raise the rent in order to keep alive his charade that Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) is alive. In a violent and dark move, Gary killed Rick last year while they were in the woods and he subsequently buried him there.

As a result, Gary has been depositing money to Laura in the name of Rick, and no one has caught on yet. But Gary found out that Laura was splurging on herself instead of using the money to pay for Kelly Neelan’s (Millie Gibson) school expenses.

Gary then started to help Kelly but when she got too curious as to why he realized she had to go back to Laura and keep off the street. Gary continued to deposit the money after Laura threatened to call the police if Rick didn’t increase the payout.
