Coronation Street Spoilers: Amy Rushed To Hospital After Drink Spiked With Drugs

Coronation Street spoilers have revealed that Amy Barlow will be a victim of drink spiking which will see her rushed to the hospital due to drug overdose.

Corrie’s ‘good girl’ Amy (Elle Mulvaney) will be the center of a major storyline following her newfound romance with drug dealer Jacob Hay (James Ryan) as she’s taken to the hospital after a suspected drug overdose, the Sun reported.

An insider revealed Amy will be in a very bad state which leads her parents Steve (Simon Gregson) and Tracy (Kate Ford) into concluding she’s on drugs. Amy in defense explains that if ever she did, she might’ve taken them unknowingly.

“It soon becomes clear that she’s been the victim of spiking but Steve and Tracy don’t accept it,” the source added.

This will also make the matters worse with Jacob who promised to have already turned a new leaf when he came back at the cobbles for he will be blamed for Amy’s worrying state. Steve and Tracy believe the drug leader is leading Amy astray, and soon the police will tail after him.

‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Love Moves In Mysterious Ways

Corrie boss Iain MacLeod has previously hinted about Jacob’s business in coming back to Corrie and aside from his journey to redeeming himself, he’ll also find love with Corrie’s “historically quite well behaved” Amy Barlow.

“We thought: ‘How would Tracy and Steve react to Amy suddenly ending up in a romantic relationship with possibly the most unsuitable boyfriend they’ve ever heard of?’” MacLeod teased.

After Amy’s horror drink spiking incident, her parents will become even more overprotective of her that they will resort to strategizing things like reverse psychology, freezing her out, cutting her off financially. But MacLeod revealed their ideas of intervention will only make things “worse”.

However, there’s hope for the fans who ship the two for MacLeod revealed the parents will “have to bite the bullet and try to get along” with Jacob in the end.

“It’s a nice story about redemption that’s got a nice romcom at the start of it. It’s Meet the Parents done Coronation Street style,” he added.

‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Away From The Set

It seems like the on-screen couple is enjoying each other’s company even outside the set as they were spotted grabbing coffee together.

The 25-year-old Corrie star Jack was seen with the 19-year-old actress Elle looked happy together when they grabbed coffee and went for a walk as they took a break from their roles.
