It all starts when Corey tells his girlfriend Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) that he’ll be going out with his friend Eli. Asha tries to impress Corey and decides to tag along with Summer.

They decide to hang out down in the canal with their other friends including Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson). While Eli and Corey start to drink, the boys let slip that the vehicle they used is stolen.

Asha Alahan Leaves Summer  Spellman With Corey Brent

Summer and Asha are horrified to know that they were riding a stolen vehicle earlier. Kelly and Corey were quick to tease the girls about their reaction, which upsets Asha. She decides to leave the group including Summer and meets Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) on her way back.

Later on, Corey and the gang come across Nina and Seb, who were taking a romantic stroll. When Corey and Eli, both drunk, start to shout nasty things at Nina, Summer decides to leave and head home. After she left, the group attacked Nina and Seb.

Kelly slaps Nina on the face. She and Seb try to run away from the gang but they manage to catch up and the couple suffers an unprovoked physical attack. Seb’s mum, Abi Franklin (Sally Carman), who was having a hen party, gets a visit from the police and informs her about what happened to her son. Meanwhile, Roy Cropper learns that Nina suffered several blows to her head and is undergoing surgery.

As the authorities start their investigation about the assault, Asha, Summer, and Amy are named as potential witnesses. Later in the week, Corey meets up with Summer and threatens her to keep quiet. If she doesn’t, he said he’ll tell the authorities that she was there during the attack and she was also with them when they stole the car.

What will Summer do? Will Corey get his way and bully her into silence? Or will she tell the police the truth?

Nina and Seb’s storyline is based on the real-life attack on Sophie Lancaster, which happened in 2007. She was beaten to death by a gang because of her physical appearance.
