Coronation Street Brings Back Character From 18 Years Ago For Todd Grimshaw’s Upcoming Storyline

Coronation Street spoilers and updates reveal a character that was last seen 18 years ago is set to make a comeback as part of Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) upcoming storyline involving his job at the undertakers. Scott Taylor will return to the soap as Stuart Fergus this week, as Todd’s old school friend. His presence will force Todd to face his past and reflect on his grief for his late son, Billy Platt.

Stuart made his last appearance on the soap back in 2003 when he bumped into Todd at the corner shop. Back then, the latter failed his entrance exams deliberately so he could stay in Weatherfield with his girlfriend, Sarah, even though he really wanted to go to the university.

George Shuttleworth Fires Todd Grimshaw

Stuart’s return to “Coronation Street,” comes as Todd works his notice period after Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) fires him for being insensitive and taking advantage of their clients. It all starts when he begins to check the accounts in the undertakers and notices that clients were too slow in paying their bills. Todd tries to warn George to be more stringent when it comes to the payment but he won’t listen.

So, Todd takes it into his hands to ask for deposits from their clients before the funeral, which upsets George but later realizes that he was right. After that incident, George receives a complaint from a client about Todd’s insensitive behavior when he sold their most expensive funeral package. He’s furious and decides to fire Todd.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Eileen  Grimshaw Confronts George Shuttleworth

Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) learns about what happened and confronts George. But after the latter fills her in, Eileen feels embarrassed when told that Todd has been ripping off grieving clients. She tells him to work his notice period and when he returns to his job, George gives him a piece of his mind and says he must learn to respect people.

Todd Grimshaw Remembers His Son’s Death

As Todd takes care of the body of a young boy in the chapel rest, Stuart comes in and reveals that he’s the father of the child who passed away. Their meeting reminds Todd of his late son, Billy, who was born in 2004 but passed away a few days later. He’ll be forced to face his heartbreaking past.

When George finds out the truth, he decides to offer Todd his job back and they both agree that they will not only be co-workers but friends, too.
