Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Daniel selfishly dealt with his girlfriend’s medical scare. In the recent episode of the longest-running soap, Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) booked an appointment with Doctor Gaddas following her breast lump discovery.

To show his support, Daniel (Rob Mallard) promised to accompany her girlfriend to the hospital. However, due to his traumatic experiences with his late wife, Sinead, the man decided to spend time with hard liquors in the pub.

As he devoured the alcoholic beverages, Daniel thought about the possibility that Daisy will just end up dying, just like his former wife. On the other hand, Daisy waited for her beau and ended up going to her appointment alone. Meanwhile, Daniel turned up to the doctor, leaving Daisy embarrassed due to his drunk status.

Later that day, when the man was completely sober, he talked to Daisy and admitted his fear of losing her in the future. As a result, Daisy got disappointed as her lover was too focused on his own feelings rather than supporting her with her medical battle. She walked out of her way, leaving Daniel worried about their future.

In his latest interview with Digital Spy, Rob Mallard talked about his character and his onscreen relationship with Daisy Midgeley following the latter’s medical condition. “It’s his worst nightmare that it would either happen to him or someone else that he cares about,” the actor stated.

After the death of his wife, Daniel fears losing everyone he loves, especially Daisy. However, after knowing his lover’s possible cancer, he admitted that his character just wanted to escape the problem. “It’s quite a selfish response, you think: ‘I’ve been through this once and I can’t do it again’ because you know what’s going to happen, you know what each of you are going to go through,” Mallard said.

Moreover, he shared that Daisy would start to push Daniel away as he showed a lack of support to her, especially in times of health trials. The actor also stated that their relationship would be shaken and would face several circumstances in the future. However, despite their health and love drama, according to the soap’s producer, Daniel will soon pop the question to Daisy.
