ITV Coronation Street updates and spoilers reveal that just when viewers thought they knew everything there was to know, or that they wanted to know, about vile Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) his past will come back to haunt him.
Geoff is a master at playing dumb and playing the victim when in fact he is a sinister predator. But now his dark past is about to come back to haunt him and perhaps shed light on his inexcusable treatment of Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King).
Coronation Street Updates – There are secrets to pop up about evil Geoff Metcalfe
The show has confirmed that the Coronation Street bad guy will be further exposed as an abuser, revealing that Yasmeen is not his only victim.
This means that his son Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) will be utterly gobsmacked. Right now deluded Tim is doing everything he can to defend his dad, who is doing his best to portray himself as the victim. But Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) does not believe the old man’s act one bit and is determined to show he is a fraud. What will she discover?
Will Alya Nazir prove that Geoff Metcalfe is the real aggressor?
At the moment domestic violence victim Yasmeen is in jail after taking a glass bottle to Geoff after he went after her first. Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) is beginning to see through Geoff’s innocent act and her suspicions will grow over time. This, in turn, cause friction in her relationship.
Nonetheless, when secrets from Geoff’s past begin to trickle out, will Tim be stunned to realize that his dad abused his mom?
Coronation Street spoilers – Will Tim’s realization turn him against Geoff?
Corrie exec Iain MacLeod has said of the ongoing storyline, “It would be highly unlikely that Geoff had never committed these behaviours previously.”

“What we have discovered from our research is that perpetrators have a cyclical pattern of behaviour. They lure someone in with love-bombing and grand gestures and that gradually gives way over time.”
The show boss continued, “They then move onto someone else so it’s right we look back at Geoff’s previous relationships and see he has done this before. We will really explore Geoff and Tim’s backstory.”
In so doing the show will reveal more about Tim’s family background and there will be plenty of family drama that comes out. MacLeod reveals, “Tim has been gaslighted since birth so he and Sally are on separate sides and there are tensions that are created as they have polar opposite views.”
