Coronation Street spoilers reveal that post-coronavirus filming has already been stopped. Already? It seems like the show had just come back from a three-month hiatus during which time actors and crew were left to sit at home and observe COVID-19 precautions like the rest of the world.
The news that Corrie was back to filming was met with great enthusiasm so it’s with great disappointment that we share the news of a work stoppage.
The whole fiasco has been dubbed, Geesegate!

That’s right, the reason for a quick and temporary production halt can be laid at the feet of a bunch of curious geese–It seems that a flock of wild geese stubbornly got in the way and blocked several cast members from making their way to the studio.
Yep, you read that correctly, a gaggle of geese were intent on crossing the main road at the entrance of the set, preventing the entrance of several cast and crew members.
Pictures show that Samia Longchambon, who portrays Maria Connor, had to come to a complete stop in her vehicle for the geese. Rather than honk her horn, she chose to snap some cute pics of the naughty birds.

Like its UK counterparts, the ITV sudser was forced to end production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has resulted in hundreds of thousands of lives lost worldwide with untold numbers sickened by the virus.
All filming was halted around the globe as a precautionary measure to stop the spread of the virus. The show responded by cutting back episodes from six a week to three a week in a bid to continue airing original content.
Their strategy worked and now that filming has resumed, the show will continue to be able to air original content without interruption.

Georgia Taylor, who portrays Toyah Battersby, told Lorraine that filming is, “kind of both strange and familiar, but there’s enough of the familiar to make it okay. So obviously a very different way of working, they’re taking it very seriously, we really feel safe and looked after, it’s just a very different way of doing things if you’re playing scenes that are intimate or emotional.
