Coronation Street: Gail PlattCoronation Street spoilers have shown Gail Platt is about to return to the cobbles following the soap’s icon Norris Cole’s death.

Fans were shocked by the news that the stalwart Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden) is leaving the Street after 27 years. Corrie confirmed that actor Hebden has retired from acting.

Following his death, Norris’s partner, Freda Burgess (Ali Briggs) will inform his friends about Norris who died in the hospital after suffering a stroke.

This week, Gail Platt (Helen Worth) will be seen again in the soap to mourn for Norris’s death after the viewers last saw her riding a taxi cab on her way to unwind in Thailand following her heart attack horror due to her family giving her so much stress.

Her mother, Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) is thrilled to welcome her back on the cobbles. But when Norris’s friends gather in church, Audrey passes around a hip flask full of tequila and Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) gulps down the alcohol, which worries Gail.

When it’s time for vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) to read the letter left by Norris, the nosy character reveals a secret that left everyone curious.

Norris mentions in the letter that the paperboy statue outside the Kabin contains a secret that leads Mary, Gail, Ken (William Roache), and Brian (Peter Gunn) to gather outside the Kabin attempting to unearth the secret.

Mary feels impatient when they can’t get it open, and so she gets a chainsaw to wreck the statue open. How will the secret affect the people on the cobbles?

Coronation Street Spoilers – Gail Platt To Die In Sinkhole Disaster?

Corrie boss Iain Macleod has revealed a major soap disaster is about to rival the famed tram crash that rocked Weatherfield in 2010 this autumn.

Last year, a sinkhole appeared in the garden of the Platt family and Corrie will revisit that storyline in the upcoming weeks which is revealed to steal the life of one of Corrie’s beloved characters.

Show producer Macleod teased that the storyline is going to be cinematic which is loaded with emotions and big spectacle.

To confirm that the “Chekhov’s sinkhole” will result in death, he told The Mirror: “When you do a story of a certain scale and at a certain level of spectacle the viewers expect there to be significant aftermath to it and significant outcomes.”
