Coronation Street Spoilers: Harriet Bibby Opens Up About Summer Spellman’s Pregnancy Storyline

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Harriet Bibby talks about Summer Spellman’s pregnancy storyline. She’ll also talk about how her character will react when Esther (Vanessa Hehir) offers to adopt her baby.

Viewers learned that Summer was pregnant when Gemma Winters (Doll-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) found a positive pregnancy test in the Weatherfield teen’s old jacket. Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) was the one who realized that the old jacket belonged to Summer. Paul promised to keep it a secret but he eventually lets it slip in front of Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) at the Rovers Return.

Later on, Esther suggests that she and her husband can adopt Summer’s child, especially since they’re struggling to conceive their own baby.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Summer Spellman’s Reaction To Esther Hayes’s Adoption Offer

Harriet said that Summer is “completely shocked” at Esther’s proposal. The young actress said that her alter ego doesn’t know the couple well.

“I think she knows that they are good people and she trusts that her judgment of them is a good one but Summer has a strong moral compass and as soon as they suggest it she’s debating in her head: ‘Is this even right? Is this illegal?'” she shared.

At first, it sounds crazy but she’ll eventually connect to Esther as a woman. She understands her desire to be a mother and starts to reconsider her offer. But it’s going to be a huge decision.

When asked whether it’ll be her own decision or others will help her choose, the actress said that “she’s got to make her own decision.”

She’ll consider her own upbringing and recall that she’s also adopted. She has no idea who her biological parents are but she’s happy with her life with Billy. She won’t oppose the idea of letting her baby have a better life somewhere else if she knows that she can’t give it to her child.

There’s also the fact that there are many people who are trying to tell Summer what to do.

“Everyone’s telling her to do different things and I think when it boils down to it it’s Summer that’s going to have to step up and say, no, this is what I want to do,” SHE SAID.
