The charming man wants to whisk Carla away and with everything happening with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), she’s tempted. However, could this seemingly perfect suitor be hiding a dangerous secret?

Corrie spoilers reveal that Peter and Carla have really gone through the ringer lately. Just last year, Carla had a mental breakdown and ended up disappearing. She came back and seemed fine, but that missing block of time came back to haunt her a few months ago. Then, Peter tried to help Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) deal with her demons, which brought back some of Peter’s old habits.

More recently, we saw Carla cheat on Peter with Adam Barlow (Samuel Robertson), then the alcoholic relapsed, and now could die from liver failure. In addition to all of that, Peter is really going off the rails and won’t stop drinking or accept anyone’s help.

As the situation with Peter gets worse, Carla will run into an old friend named Lucas. He is described as being very charming and he makes Carla a proposition. The offer comes at a time when Carla is probably looking for an escape or some kind of release. Peter keeps pushing Carla away, so it will feel nice for a man who actually wants her company. But she needs to think very carefully about her decision.

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Lucas says all the right things. It seems like a perfect opportunity and she wants to be whisked away. However, she is still in love with Peter despite everything that’s happening. Despite him not wanting her around him, Carla doesn’t want to give up on the man she loves… especially as he faces a death sentence.

Carla starts to take a chance on Lucas, but then suddenly Peter changes his mind and wants her back. She will be conflicted over what to do. However, it is confirmed in Inside Soap magazine that Lucas won’t just appear this one time. He will stick around and become a bit of an issue. An insider told the publication,

“He’ll be a thorn in Carla and Peter’s side over the coming months. As Peter battles his demons, will he also be forced to fight another man for the woman he loves?”

Typically in soaps, the perfect man aka “Prince Charming” usually seems so right because they are hiding something very wrong. We imagine that despite being an old friend, Lucas might be harboring a dangerous secret. Could Peter and Carla be in real danger? We will have to keep watching the soap to find out.
