In despair, he completely breaks down and expects not to be around much longer. He decides to write a letter to Simon saying goodbye. He doesn’t plan on Simon reading it until after he is gone, but Carla intercepts that plan.

The goodbye letter to Simon (Alex Bain) is what breaks the camel’s back. Carla refuses to allow Peter to just give up and die. She also doesn’t want Simon to read the letter after Peter his already gone. She grabs Simon and drags him to the Rovers. There, she reads the letter out loud to Simon in front of his father.

Hideous Miracle

Peter hits rock bottom and breaks down. He admits to Ken Barlow (William Roache) that he wants to stop drinking but doesn’t know how. He feels ashamed and decides that he wants a second chance, but Carla doesn’t know this. While Peter is making the decision to live, someone from Carla’s past shows up and makes her a proposition.

“Peter makes it clear that he doesn’t want Carla anywhere near him,” a source told Inside Soap magazine. “So it’s hardly surprising she accepts Lucas’ offer. But just as she’s heading off, Peter appears, and begs her not to go. However, is he too late?”

Will she end up making another mistake and going to this man’s hotel room? Or will she turn the man down so her relationship has a chance to survive? Whatever Carla decides, the show boss previously confirmed that Peter and Carla make it in the end. Not only do they survive this ordeal, but they become stronger than ever. So, it seems that Carla’s hideous reaction might actually be a miracle that saves Peter’s life.
