ITV Coronation Street spoilers reveal that the good news keeps on coming for the ITV sudser. One of the show’s stars has now revealed when the soap’s older cast members are allowed to return to work, and it’s sooner than you may think.
ITV Coronation Street Spoilers – Mature Corrie Stars Are Set To Come Back To Work In September
According to Maureen Lipman (Evelyn Plummer), Corrie’s mature actors have been given the green light to come back to the cobbles in September.
The lovely and talented actress spilled the news today when she was interviewed on Lorraine.
The show itself began filming earlier this month but execs chose to keep vulnerable actors offset until a later date. The precautions are part of the coronavirus pandemic safety mandates and older individuals are in a higher risk group to contract the virus.

Lipman is 74 and told the show that she feels fortunate to be able to return to the ITV soap. ‘I’m very aware,” she said, “that I’m incredibly lucky to have Coronation Street to look forward to in September when the wrinklies get unrolled.’
She added, “There is an element now of people, particularly in my business … you used to be able to waitress when you weren’t working but now there’s nowhere to waitress. So it is tough.”

Lipman went on to talk about how she’s handling the virus restrictions, saying, “I miss my grandchildren so much, I’ve been Zooming them drama lessons. I did it very professionally with warm-ups and tongue twisters. They performed it in the garden and it was just wonderful.”
She’s also been able to keep her hair in tip-top shape as she’s had her personal assistant attending to her locks while the salons are closed.
She called her hair a “bush” and noted that having her PA cut it for her was fun but she is looking forward to the day she can return to a professional hairdresser!
