In 2001, Langley was cast as Todd Grimshaw and played the character on and off until 2017. After the actor’s sexual assault conviction, the character was written out of the show. Todd assaulted a police officer in the soap and afterward, simply went on the run. However, the Daily Star claims that we will see Todd return.

Bruno Langley Convicted

In 2017, Bruno ended up sexually assaulting two females in a Manchester bar. He was charged and convicted of the crimes. After the conviction, Corrie fired Langley. Now, he is working as a photographer taking professional portraits. He says that he is happy being creative in his current line of work. He added,

“I’ve been taking time out to catch my breath, reassess what is important to me, and to make myself a better person.”

Corrie Spoilers – Recasting Character

The report claims that Coronation Street is already casting to find a replacement for Langley so Todd can come back to television screens. If this happens, then it means that Todd will have been on the run and hiding from the law for a whopping three years.

Returning Character Hints

There have been hints that Todd could be coming back at some point in the near future. Todd’s mother, Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) told Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine),

“Every Mother’s Day or birthday it’s the same. I think this will be the time I hear from him but I never do of course.”

As fans know, soaps don’t drop hints or mention like that unless it is for a very specific reason. Most of the time, it is foreshadowing a return. Plus, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) is teased to encounter a “blast from the past.” As fans know, Billy and Todd had a relationship at one point.

      The answer to the first half of the above question is YES, and to the second half is NO. A RECAST IS OUT OF THE QUESTION. THERE IS ONLY ONE ACTOR WHO CAN PLAY TODD GRIMSHAW, AND THAT IS, THE ONE AND ONLY BRUNO LANGLEY.
