Coronation Street spoilers and updates tease that Toyah Battersby’s (Georgia Taylor) past will once again resurface as the investigation over Imran Habeeb’s (Charlie de Melo) death continues. The police will have their eyes on her as they try to figure out if she has something to do with the death of her husband last week.
Imran’s Tragic Death
Fans may recall that Toyah and Imran got into an accident as they traveled home from the police station. Their car crashed into scaffolding. Imran managed to drag his wife out of the car and bring her to safety. However, things turned for the worse when Imran suffered a cardiac arrest, which led to his death.
Cops Suspect Toyah
The authorities are looking into Toyah’s involvement in the car crash. In upcoming scenes, Toyah delivers a eulogy for her husband’s funeral. She wished that Imran was alive instead of her.
Adam Barlow is skeptical about Toyah and Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) doesn’t trust anything she says even during the eulogy. After the service. Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), Toyah’s ex-partner, approaches her and warns her that some people think she has something to do with Imran’s death. Those people included Adam.
Peter also warned her that the police asked him about her past, particularly the time when she was so desperate to have a baby. Viewers may recall that she came up with a plan to take Eva Price’s baby and raise it as her own.
Toyah Goes To The Police
After hearing the allegations, Toyah decides to go to the police to clear a few things out. Later in the week, the police detain Toyah and the latter’s sister, Leanne Battersby, will scramble to find information as to what’s happening to Toyah while in prison.
Lean believes that her sister is innocent even if other people say otherwise. Toyah will insist that she didn’t intend to kill Imran. The question now is if other people will believe her.
Charlie de Melo, who plays the role of Imran, said that they have put in De Melo’s last episodes.
“A lot of departments were pulling together to make sure that the scale of it was as big as it feasibly could be,” he shared.
The actor added that he learned that Imran will be killed off during a Zoom call. This took place in the runup to Christmas last year.
