Corrie spoilers reveal that there will be a new addition to the ITV soap opera. Hart-Simpson confirmed the news on Instagram that she has a new acting gig. The actress previously portrayed Davina in 2017 and Beverly in 2020, according to IMDB. Prior to those roles, she played Chantelle on Mount Pleasant.

Coronation Street Updates – New Character Details

The only details that have been announced about the character are the name. ITV confirmed to Radio Times that the actress will play Nicky. It is a brand new character, not a recast. However, that is all we know so far and the soap is keeping a tight lid on details. So, we have to wonder if this means it will be tied into a major storyline? Especially due to the timing of her first appearance.

When Will We Meet Nicky Wheatley?

Coronation Street spoilers from Hart-Simpson’s agency, Regent Talent Group posted that “Nicky” will make her first appearance on June 19. Now, this is interesting because her first appearance will come shortly after filming resumes after COVID-19 shut down soaps.

Even though production will restart, some older soap veterans will not be on set due to being in a high-risk age group. While there is a rumor that they could appear on video as a way to keep them involved in storylines, some scenes will definitely have to be edited or completely rewritten to make these accommodations.

Coronation Street Spoilers – What Else To Expect

After production was shut down, the broadcasted episodes decreased to three times per week. It will stick with that schedule, at least for the time being. Fans don’t seem to have a problem with it, either. They love Corrie, but really want the cast and crew to be safe.
