Coronation Street spoilers and update reveal Cathy Matthew’s (Melanie Hill) secret, that she’s staying with Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) and Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox), may come to light as soon as the latter sees how worried Brian Packham is about her whereabouts.

Fans know that Cathy has been suffering the repercussions, both online and in-person, of her actions when she trolled Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford). Cathy made his partner, Brian, believe that she’s gone to her sister Nessa Warner (Sadie Shimmin) in Scotland. But the truth is, she’s actually staying with Yasmeen and Elaine at Number 6. Coronation Street Spoilers – Brian Packham Finds Out Cathy Matthews Is Not In Scotland

Unfortunately, Brian calls Nessa and finds out that Cathy is not with her. He’s scared that something bad has happened to her and decides to call the police at The Kabin to ask for help. When Elaine spots Brian, she prepares herself to break the news to him that Cathy has not gone far. How will he react to the news that his partner lied to him about where she is?

Meanwhile, there’s a growing tension between Yasmeen, Elaine, and Cathy. The first two are starting to feel irritated with Cathy’s presence, especially with her hoarding habits.

Melanie Hill, who portrays Cathy, revealed that her character isn’t coping well with her current ordeal.

“She goes into hiding and she is pushing the one person who is trying to help her away. Her state of mind has been affected by what is happening all around her. She doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt by what is happening to her,” she explained.

Hill also mentioned Cathy’s tendency to hoard. It’s been a while since the soap touched this topic but with her character’s predicament as of the moment, she’ll once again show signs of hoarding.

“She wants to create a cocoon for herself and she can’t bear going outside and facing up to things,” Hill said.

The actress is grateful for getting the chance to play out this storyline. Hill acknowledged the significant effects of trolling and how it could hurt other people’s feelings.

‘It is a very current situation and it is important to highlight it because this bullying online is just horrific’ Melanie said.
