Days of our Lives spoilers – WilSon deserve better

In the midst of the crumbling of Will and Sonny’s (Freddie Smith) union, a curious question has come up, a byproduct of their drama. Namely, when is cheating not cheating? It’s a curious dilemma, and surprisingly the answer is a decidedly non-soapy one that has fans divided.

It’s a moral quandary that Sonny voiced when he and that interloper manny, Evan (Brock Kelly) were making out recently. Technically he’s still married to Will, although Will is adamant that they divorce.

It’s just better that way according to Will, because he accidentally killed Sonny’s mom. Hmm. Never mind that Sonny has no problem with Will killing his mom and remaining in wedded bliss. Will, in his fabulous orange prison jumpsuit, nagged at Sonny that they must divorce until finally Sonny caved in and agreed.

So it would seem that their union is kaput, except that it’s not apparently, as evidenced by the break in the make-out session between Sonny and Evan. Sonny admitted that he felt weird because it seemed like he was cheating on his incarcerated hubby who has for all intents and purposes dumped him.

This led Evan to surmise that Sonny is actually still in love with Will, although Sonny was noncommittal. In the end, these two decided to wait until the divorce is final before they explore their friendship in greater detail.

Days of our Lives spoilers – Will Kate save Sonny?

I really can’t remember the last time cooler heads prevailed on a soap opera, especially where kissing and lust were concerned.

But there you have it, for all intents and purposes, cheating is cheating in Salem, no matter what the extenuating circumstances. The question, “when is cheating not cheating?” has been definitively answered (for now at least).

But the larger question may be, will Sonny and Evan ever get the chance to be a non-cheating item? The odds seem stacked against them, what with Evan’s dubious past fast catching up to him, and Kate’s (Lauren Koslow) determination to unmask him.
