The battle between Hallmark Channel and GAC Family continues, as the latter announces its Great American Christmas in July event. Moreover, former Hallmark star Jen Lilley will host the event. Just like Hallmark, GAC Family wants to bring you holiday cheer in summer. Read on to find out more about the Great American Christmas in July event.
GAC Family announces Great American Christmas in July host
Summer has only just arrived, but that doesn’t stop Hallmark Channel and GAC Family from offering Christmas holiday content. In the case of GAC, the network announced Tuesday that Jen Lilley will be the host of its first Great American Christmas in July programming event.
Meanwhile, the festive programming event will kick off on Saturday, July 2, 2022, and will feature Christmas movies 24/7 throughout the Fourth of July weekend. However, besides a replay of GAC Family’s original Christmas movies, there will be something new. In fact, the event will feature first-look previews of the all-new holiday movies planned for Great American Christmas 2022. Along the way, the new programming event will be hosted by popular former Hallmark actress, Jen Lilley.
What Christmas films will air during the programming event?
According to Variety, Great American Christmas in July will feature encores of the following movies: Christmas Time Is Here, The Great Christmas Switch, A Christmas Star, Jingle Bell Princess, A Kindhearted Christmas and A Christmas Miracle for Daisy. Others include: Royally Wrapped for Christmas, Joy for Christmas, A Lot Like Christmas, Angel Falls Christmas and Much Ado About Christmas.
Meanwhile, Christmas fan-favorite movies will include Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle, Debbie Macomber’s Call Me Mrs. Miracle, A Cinderella Christmas and A Match Made at Christmas.
Great American Christmas new movies
GAC Family had previously announced that their festive programming event, Great American Christmas, will return with new, original movies from October 28.
As fans of feel-good programming know, GAC Media isn’t the only network celebrating Christmas in summer. Crown Media Family Networks also recently announced its Christmas in July programming event. That event will kick off on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Friday, June 24 and will run through Thursday, June 30.
Meanwhile, Hallmark Channel’s festive event kicks off on July 1, featuring daily movie marathons from 10 am to midnight for the whole of July. However, the network’s programming event will include three new, original movies.
My Grown-Up Christmas List will air on July 9, with Campfire Christmas debuting on July 16. Meanwhile, Christmas in Toyland will premiere on July 23 on Hallmark Channel.
