General Hospital Spoilers: Austin’s Next Love Affair Stuns Everyone — It’s Not Ava

General Hospital spoilers tease no one could blame Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) for feeling like she can’t escape her past. Everywhere she goes and every decision she makes, she feels like all eyes are on her. That’s why it’s going to be such a refreshing change of pace for her when someone shows interest in being her friend, and possibly more. That someone? Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth).

Esme hasn’t really considered the idea of being in a relationship with anyone. She’s had more than enough on her plate and doesn’t particularly want to stick around Port Charles, but she’s going to find Austin’s charms pretty irresistible, not to mention the way he treats her — like she doesn’t have a reputation that enters the room before she does. But what will everyone else have to say about this pair?

General Hospital Spoilers — The Fans Have Spoken

Austin has been bumbling around Port Charles ever since he got there. Every storyline that he picks up seems to trail off without really being finished — not with a finale fans have come to expect from GH anyway. Austin’s initial war with the Quartermaines was snuffed out when he tired of the family theatrics and decided to lay down his arms, considering it not worth the fight.

His relationship with Maxie was a slow burn that fizzled out quickly, leaving him with a bit of a tarnished reputation that no one seemed to notice. His creepy cousin, Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey), has been lurking around town bringing him strays with bullet wounds to suture and seemed to have him over a barrel — and that was before Austin jumped into a cover-up with Ava Jerome (Maura West) after she thought she killed NIkolas Cassadine (Adam Huss). Austin’s tendency to leave things unfinished has many fans scratching their heads as distance grows between him and Ava, and rumors swirl of an upcoming love affair with her nemesis, Esme.

GH Spoilers – Hint Spencer Cassadine Reacts Jealously?

There might not be anyone in town more offended at the idea of Austin coupling up with Esme than Ava will be. After all, she thought he was her friend. Austin might be rethinking that ever since his efforts to help her give her husband the old heave-ho ended with him getting hooked and nearly dying on Spoon Island. Austin has been keeping a safe distance, and in the meantime he’s had a few encounters with Esme as she has sought care for Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay).

But while Ava might be offended, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will be downright pissed. As he laments to anyone who will listen about how ridiculous it is that Austin would take interest in Esme, it’s going to occur to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) that Spencer seems just a bit too concerned with Esme’s personal life — more than she’d like him to be anyway. Is there more to it? According to General Hospital spoilers, Trina might try to remind Spencer that the more ties Esme develops to Port Charles, the more likely she sticks around with Ace. It’s a win-win, right?

General Hospital Spoilers — Laura Collins  Cools The Flames

Nothing will irritate Esme more than if Spencer starts speaking his opinion about her newfound romance — especially if he attempts character assassination of the good doctor. She’s not going to let him get away with that without putting him in his place, which could bring about some discord in their happy non-traditional home.

Laura Collins (Genie Francis) might be out of her league in trying to combat this argument. Are these exes really fighting over a guy like Austin being in Ace’s life — or is Spencer going to take issue with Esme having any guy in her orbit?
