Richard Dean Anderson was a heartthrob back in the 70s & made his name on GH

Anderson got his big break on GH in 1976 when he signed on to play the part of Dr. Jeff Webber, the brother of Dr. Rick Webber (Chris Robinson). He stayed until 1981 and in that short period of time left an indelible mark on the daytime drama landscape.

Following his GH stint the talented and handsome star went on to appear on The Facts of Life, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Emerald Point N.A.S. on CBS, and of course his star turn as MacGyver from 1985 to 1992.

General Hospital Spoilers – Richard Dean Anderson became a household name after starring on ABC’s General Hospital

Anderson was born in 1950 and began his career in 1976 on GH as a recent med school grad. Believe it or not when Jeff arrived in town he was married to none other than Monica Bard Webber (Leslie Charleson), the woman who would go on to become Mrs. Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon)!

At one time she was also involved with Rick Webber as well, making for awkward times in the hospital hallways.

At one point a back from the dead Rick was an obstacle for Jeff who feared the lovers would get back together—he was right!

In fact, Rick and Monica were still in love, and eventually, Jeff was tossed to the side where he meets wacko Heather Grant, a woman who would turn the town upside down with her evil ways and scheming antics.

Will Jeff Webber ever return to Port Charles?

In the end, Jeff ended up with three daughters including Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig).

Through Elizabeth, he has three grandsons and he has a granddaughter via Hayden. Jeff has been talked about infrequently, especially when Hayden first appeared.
