When the paramedics brought Curtis into the ER at GH, they said his Glasgow coma scale number was 111. That’s a real thing, and the CDC describes a 111 as basically brain dead-no response in touch, hearing or anything.

That means there is a lot more than paralysis to worry about even though that is an important situation as well.

The doctors will try to remove the bullet and assess any spinal damage, but there’s a possibility with that Glasgow score he may be in an indeterminate coma. That means a difficult decision could lie ahead – whether to leave Curtis on life support or pull the plug, and brain death doesn’t leave many options.

GH Spoilers: Scans Will Be Done To Assess Brain Activity

The bullet is the immediate concern, and removing it so as not to damage the spine-if it’s not damaged from the bullet already. But neurological scans will be done also to assess brain activity and if the Glasgow score doesn’t come up, paralysis would be a moot point.

The Ashford-Robinson family will be torn to shreds if Curtis may never wake up-and Trina, just getting to know her birth father won’t be an exception. Although anesthesia was given in case he did wake up, Curtis remains unconscious after the surgery and unresponsive to various stimuli.

The doctors think he went unresponsive from the loss of blood, which carries oxygen to the brain. The family is advised it’s a wait and see situation and it may be best for him to not be awakened because of needing time to heal.

But in the meantime, General Hospital spoilers tease Curtis could remain in an indeterminate coma, be on life support, and still there is the threat of paralysis. Even if they get the bullet out, the loss of blood leaves the odds stacked against him and the family in pain, especially Trina.
