Candace Cameron Bure recently sparked a backlash over her comments about marriage. And now the Full House alum wants to explain what she meant. But Candace also admitted the challenges in a cancel culture world.
Find out what Cameron Bure shared about the Great American Family controversy. And learn what she feels about the challenges of cancel culture. Get all the details below.
Candace Cameron Bure – Feels Cancel Culture Makes Life ‘Difficult’
Ever since becoming Chief Creative Officer for Great American Family, Candace Cameron Bure has tried to explain her goals for the cable network. But the Full House alum’s remarks about marriage sparked slams. And in a new podcast, Bure sought to explain herself, noted EW.
The backlash began when Candace vowed to keep “traditional marriages at the core” of Great American Family programming. And now the actress continues to struggle to explain what she meant. “We are always stronger together,” pointed out Bure. And she blamed cancel culture for her challenges.
Calling cancel culture “real” and “difficult,” the Full House alum shared that she holds onto her faith. “And it’s hard,” added Candace. “But listen. I just want to encourage you that you are not the only one. And there are lots of us.” Seeking to unite those who agree with her, Bure underscored her belief that “we are always stronger together. And you have to find your community and know the word of God,” she added.
Candace Cameron Bure – Urges World To ‘Walk The Walk’
The Hallmark alum also discussed what she calls her “biggest encouragement.” And Bure commented on the “difference in the way when it’s spoken. When you’re leading your own actions — you’re not just talking the talk but have to walk the walk,” she added. “And when the truth comes with love and kindness and respect, it goes a whole lot further.”

However, Candace continues to face anger over her comments that Christmas movies at Great American Family will exclude LGBTQ couples. And the actress also sparked controversy over criticizing Hallmark’s commitment to inclusion and diversity in its programming. As a result of the new leadership, Bure complained about “a completely different network than when I started.”
And Bure stated, “My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them. I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.” However, those remarks sparked slams from both viewers and her peers. For instance, Neal Bledsoe departed the network. And Hallmark fan favorites Lacey Chabert and Jonathan Bennett shared their support.
But that left Candace again trying to defend herself. And she described herself as “a devoted Christian. Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God,” she declared. “Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately.”
