Fans will recall that the first Hannah Swensen mystery, Sweet Revenge premiered in August 2021. However, Sweeney’s sleuthing character has also starred in other mystery series, including Murder, She Baked. Meanwhile, the series had five movies between 2015 and 2017, beginning with Murder She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie mystery.
What is the plot of the new Hannah Swensen mystery?
The upcoming mystery movie is based on Joanne Fluke’s tenth Hannah Swensen novel, Carrot Cake Murder. Futon Critic shared a brief synopsis revealing that the discovery of a skeleton in the rubble of a building being renovated brings a revelation that one Lake Eden native may not be who they claimed to be.
In true form and much to Mike’s dismay, Hannah decides to investigate the mystery. However, while trying to uncover the victim’s identity, she turns to her mother, Delores, for help. Between them, they work to uncover the truth and bring a killer to justice.
When does the movie premiere on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
So far, no news is available as to the premiere date, but the cast has already been busy working on the new movie. As fans know, the average Hallmark movie takes 15 days to film. Meanwhile, Alison Sweeney had previously shared a selfie on her Instagram on February 18, taken on the set. According to our calculations, this means the movie has likely finished filming already.
Sweeney captioned the image:
