Hallmark spoilers and updates reveal at the recent Hallmark Media presentation, a new offering was announced. What exactly is ‘One Hallmark’ and what does it mean for fans?
What Is This Rebranding About?
During the latest upfront presentation, Hallmark Media shared a variety of exciting updates. The network is set to launch 40 new Christmas movies as part of its Countdown To Christmas celebration.
Even more impressive, there will be more than 4,000 hours of holiday-themed programming available in 2025.
Furthermore, Hallmark intends to expand its lineup of unscripted content, branding it as “reality with heart” and they introduced the concept of “One Hallmark.” What does this initiative entail, and what does it represent-here’s a look at how the beloved network is shaping its identity.
The Rebranding Initiative Explained
The feel-good network has undergone significant changes, including a rebranding to “One Hallmark;” Ed Georger, the EVP of Ad Sales and Digital Media at Hallmark Media, discussed this new branding with Adweek.
Originally a family-owned card company established 115 years ago, the brand now encompasses DaySpring, Crayola, and more-this is just one aspect of the network’s three-part branding strategy.
Another key element is their movies and reality series, which are widely recognized, especially during the Countdown to Christmas.
Many people mistakenly label non-Hallmark Christmas films as part of the brand, as millions tune in to watch the network’s holiday movies. The Christmas season has become closely associated with the network.
Speaking Of Christmas-
Films such as Three Wise Men and a Baby and Haul Out the Holly have sequels-this year, there will be 40 new Christmas movies.
Additionally, two series, Mistletoe Murders and the limited series The Twelve Dates of Christmas, will be included in over 4,000 hours of programming available on both linear and streaming platforms.
Mistletoe Murders is inspired by the Audible Original of the same name and features Sarah Drew, Peter Mooney, and Sierra Marilyn Riley.
This murder mystery series follows Emily Lane, a Christmas store owner who solves crimes while keeping a secret past; the network has also ventured into unscripted content.
The series Finding Mr. Christmas, hosted by Jonathan Bennett, is a competition to discover the next male lead for a Hallmark movie; last year’s winner, Ezra Moreland appeared in Happy Howlidays.
Two Major Fan Experiences Were Introduced
Last year, Hallmark introduced two significant fan events; they organized two cruises where fans had the chance to sail alongside some of the network’s biggest stars. Attendees were able to preview a new movie and partake in the festive traditions showcased in holiday films.
Both cruises were fully booked, with an additional 70,000 people on the waiting list; furthermore, the network hosted the Christmas Experience for four consecutive weekends.
Similar to the cruises, this event featured opportunities to meet the stars, enjoy delicious hot chocolate, and engage in various holiday activities.
Over 100,000 attendees from around the globe participated in this event; it’s clear that these elements of the “One Hallmark” experience will return in 2025.
More Holiday Touchdown Movies Are Coming
Last year, the network teamed up with the NFL to create the film Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story; this year, they are producing a sequel titled Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story.
This initiative exemplifies the essence of “One Hallmark;” the collaboration will feature fan activities, co-branded products, and promotions across multiple platforms, with more information to be revealed later this year. All three elements of this branding will enhance the overall experience.
This will include merchandise related to cards and gifts, a romantic comedy, and unique fan interactions.
The network could potentially build on this concept with other popular films or series in the future; what are your thoughts on the “One Hallmark” idea?
