When Calls The Heart Includes Reference To Lori Loughlin’s Abigail

When Calls The Heart While Hallmark has no intention of working with Lori Loughlin, a reference to Abigail cropped up in the latest episode.

As When Calls the Heart fans know, Lori Loughlin, who played Abigail in seasons 1-6, was fired from the series, due to her involvement in the college admissions scandal. While the Full House actress has recently starred in the GAC Family Christmas special, When Hope Calls, a surprising reference to her character came up in the latest WCTH episode.

When Calls The Heart Spoilers – Abigail Stanton Mentioned In When Calls The Heart

While there is no chance that Hallmark Channel will change its mind and rehire Lori Loughlin, her character still got a mention on the March 13 episode. Hearties will recall that in the season 8 finale, Henry Gowen (Martin Cummins) drove away from Hope Valley. He has previously had romantic feelings toward Abigail and hinted at regrets about the way things went with her.

At that time, fans started speculating that a Henry-Abigail reunion could happen and it did. The only thing is, that reunion happened off-screen as revealed in episode 2 of When Calls the Heart season 9.

When Calls The Heart Spoilers – Episode 2 References Abigail Stanton

In the premiere of season 9, Gowen did return to Hope Valley. However, the dialogue didn’t give details of what he had been doing during his time away from town. However, episode 2 reveals that he had, indeed, reconnected with Abigail.

In Sunday’s episode, Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) visits Henry in his office. While chatting, he told her his son Christopher is now engaged to Lee and Rosemary’s niece, Rachel. At this point, Gowen mentioned the long-gone Abigail, while struggling to put his feelings into words.

“Elizabeth, I know that you and Abigail write regularly, so…” he said, trailing off.

Elizabeth reassured Henry, saying it meant more than he will ever know that he drove out to visit Abigail. However, Henry then quickly changed the subject.

When Calls The Heart Spoilers – No chance Of Lori Loughlin Loughlin Returning To Hallmark

Many Abigail fans have held out, hoping that Hallmark Channel would change its mind and rehire Lori Loughlin. She was a much-loved character in When Calls the Heart and starred in the series right from the start. However, after her involvement in the college admissions scandal came to light, the network quickly cut ties with her. In the storyline, Abigail and her son Cody had gone back home to care for her sick mother.

However, Lori did appear as Abigail in GAC Family’s When Hope Calls Christmas special. However, no matter what fans wanted, there is no hope of her reprising her character on the original show on Hallmark.

Also, while Abigail appeared in the Christmas special, so far there is no news of whether Loughlin will star in season 2 of When Hope Calls. In fact, no premiere date has yet been announced by GAC for the second season, so it’s difficult to know.

Warmed my heart so much to know they haven't forgotten about her.

She has faced her punishment and should be welcome backed.

I am so very sorry that Lori won't be allowed back to WCTH. She did her time, she is a much loved actress and what has happened to forgiveness and second chances. She is really missed as Abigail.

  4. Barbara Kelley says

I am very much so a Lori Loughlin fan! Hallmark needs to get off their holier-than -thou attitude and bring her back to WCTH. Even Jesus forgave the thief in the cross. If He can forgive the thief on the cross, then why can't Hallmark forgive Lori Loughlin?

After reading this information it is clear that those that could change the hiring of Lori Loughlin will not now or ever change their mind about forgiveness. She paid her time and paid for her crime. I've read so many others feel the same way about Lori/Abigail. So since not now, not ever she will be hired. I'm done and not now or ever will watch WCTH or Hallmark Movies. The constant reruns of sitcoms. GAC has new movies and with some of our favorite actors. So Brian Bird and Micheal Landon Jr and all that are in charge. Congratulations you win. All of our begging and giving and requesting for a second chance fell on deaf ears so you may have won that one; but, how many viewers did you lose in your bold decision? Don't think it was a few it was not. It was many thousands. Thank God Bill Abbott has a heart!!

as a Christian i always liked halmark for their family friendly and Christian based shows. I can understand why they let loir go to begin with. on the other hand they are being VERY hypocritical by not rehiring her when they are now promoting gays and trans. if halmark refuses to bring loir back then they need to STOP with all this gay stuff.

I didn't watch WCTH when Lori was on so it's no big deal to me one way or the other. I don't know what made her think she is better than anyone else, but she has been punished for it. I do agree that Hallmark needs to stop with all this gay stuff. That was one thing that I liked about this channel is that I could turn it on and not have to worry.
