Neighbours Spoilers: More Drama For Karl And Susan

As if Karl and Susan haven’t had enough drama on Neighbours in the last few weeks, there’s another dilemma heading the Kennedys’ way.

It was only last week that Karl (Alan Fletcher) was moments away from death, but he already has a huge decision to make.

English ex-pat Rita Newland (Lisa Kay) has been seen around Erinsborough a few times recently, after turning to Toadie for legal advice about Izzy, only to end up with cake in her face – literally. This time Rita – who is perhaps best recognised as Carol from English drama Heartbeat – asks for a meeting with both Karl and Susan.

Neighbours spoilers tease that confusion soon turns to clarity when Rita reveals that she wants Karl to help her in initiating MS treatment trials at Erinsborough Hospital. The benefit would be twofold – it could massively boost the revenue and reputation of Rita’s company as well as completely change many lives, including Susan’s.

Although the idea excites Karl he is in a dilemma because of his current health scare. After much consideration Karl decides that he cannot help with the projects as he’s already had to cut back on many of his work commitments while recuperating.

Despite this, Susan cannot help but do some research of her own behind Karl’s back – she’s very intrigued as to how the MS trials would work.

After thinking about it for a few days, Susan finally admits to Karl that she wants to be involved in the trials, even if he does not. Being the supportive husband that he is, Karl promises to help, meaning that he must go back to work despite his health.

However, the first obstacle comes in the form of Clive Gibbons, chief operating officer of the hospital. He is unsure of Rita’s true intentions as well as the legitimacy of the trials and therefore won’t support their motion.

This leaves Karl no choice but to go against Clive in trying to have the trials picked up – but who will win?
