Earlene Branson, the mother of Ami Brown of “Alaskan Bush People,” died on November 9, 2018. The cause of the death is still undisclosed. The pair have had their differences, and unfortunately, they never reconciled after several years of not speaking with each other.
According to an obituary posted on ObitTree, Branson was born on May 9,1933, during the Great Depression, and lived in Texas. She retired a dedicated civil servant and legal secretary, having worked in her lifetime for the Department of Energy (DOE) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The site had a link on how to send flowers to her family.
She and her daughter Ami have had a rough relationship and have not been in contact over the years. However, Earlene reportedly wanted to make amends with Ami before she dies. If the two had the chance to patch things up, the details were never made public.
Ami and Billy got married when Ami was very young. She moved out at the age of 16, stayed in Texas for a bit before making the big move to Alaska. All these turned their mother-daughter relationship upside down and they have been estranged since then.
Earlene and her son Les Branson came to Alaska to visit Ami. It was a huge story at that time but it didn’t turn out the way Earlene wanted. Unfortunately, Ami was not in Alaska at that time and they were not able to see each other.
Billy was in the hospital last week, but is now at home focusing on his health. https://t.co/Fdum0U6LPt

Ami Brown has had her own share of health problems. She was diagnosed with lung cancer. With intensive treatment, unrelenting faith in the Lord, and the support and love of her entire family, she was declared cancer free. The Brown family is now living in Washington so she can continue to get her scans to make sure her cancer has not relapsed.
Hopefully, the two got in touch with each other and fixed things. Perhaps Discovery filmed it or maybe they will talk about what had happened on the next episode of Alaskan Bush People.
But for now, the Brown family has kept their silence and have not commented about the passing of Ami’s mother.
