If there’s anything that we’ve learned about Donald Trump over the years, it’s that he’s someone who likes to say what’s on his mind, no matter how controversial it might be.
And he’s done it once again with his statement about autism rates in the country. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
President Donald Trump Makes A Controversial Statement About Autism Rates
Per the latest reports, Donald Trump just issued a memo raising concerns about rising autism rates among children.
He has previously expressed openness to eliminating childhood vaccines if proven dangerous and plans to have RFK Jr. investigate potential links between vaccines and autism.
Back in December, the newly elected president claimed that “something is wrong” with autism rates in America and promises a full investigation into what’s causing it.
He added, “We’re going to look into why the autism rate is so much higher than it was 20, 25, 30 years ago. I mean, it’s like it’s 100 times higher. There’s something wrong, and we’re going to try to find that.”
Of course, the internet certainly had a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “I’m worried about a link between autism and vaccines too. I wish we could pause childhood vaccines until some truth comes forward. I’m frightened every time my grandchild goes to the pediatrician.”
What’s Next For Donald Trump And His Administration?
Another critic wrote, “Our children are getting sicker, this needs to be investigated not just accepted as a new normal. RFK is one of the first politicians who’s willing to do this. We need to make sure to make our children well again.”
And then there was this comment as well: “The rise in autism diagnoses over the last 20 years is multifaceted, involving improvements in how we identify and understand autism, changes in diagnostic criteria, and possibly real increases in incidence due to various environmental and genetic factors.”
So far Donald Trump has not made any additional comments about the matter just yet. Watch this space for more.
