American Idol Season 22 Premiere: Contestant Has Unfair Advantage

The fans noticed everything that happened on the show. During Sunday’s premiere, they saw that one of the contestants had an unfair advantage.

Mackenzie Sol has 12.5 million TikTok followers and one million Instagram followers. The 23-year-old became famous on the internet for his stunts.

He has plenty of people who would vote for him. Mackenzie is originally from England but currently resides in Las Vegas. He won over the judges with his rendition of Sam Cooke’s “Bring It On Home To Me.” Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan got up from their seats to give him a standing ovation.

Katy exclaimed that he could end up in the Top 10. The American Idol Instagram account shared a clip of his audition. Most fans think this was fixed for Mackenzie to win the Season 22 competition.

“He already has 1 million IG followers. He is going to get tons of votes just because he has a huge following,” one fan wrote.

“I did really love him, but I think he def has a big advantage,” another user noted.

“Yeah, it does seem a bit unfair,” a third user noted.

American Idol: Pre-Selected Audition Process?

Other American Idol fans noticed something else about the audition process. Mackenzie’s mother, Nicki, surprised him. Some believe that some of the auditions are pre-selected for a special reason.

“Good for this guy but this may be one of the biggest dead giveaways that these ‘auditions’ are so pre-selected,” one user noted.

“Why would they bring mom out as a surprise if he had a fair chance of getting nos???” another user wrote.

This isn’t the first time that fans called out the staged scenes. They argued that the show is trying to put Katy Perry in a good light. This came after she had a controversial Season 21. She was accused of bullying the fans on the show.
