The Duggars have been plagued by different controversies through the years, but none so damaging as Josh’s conviction for possessing child pornography videos. During Josh’s arrest, much of the family either stayed silent or even supported him, but not Amy Duggar King. I doubt he has a fiercer critic than Amy Duggar King, who is very vocal about the disgusting nature of the attitude the father of seven engaged in.
However strong her feelings are towards Josh and his creepy possession of child porn videos, she obviously did not direct it to his wife Anna Duggar, and instead has promised to lend a helping hand to her whenever she needs it.
Amy Duggar King Reveals She Reached Out To Anna Duggar Several Times Through Different Means
A few months back, Josh Duggar added possession of child pornography to his admittance of sexually abusing multiple young girls, including Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seward, when he was between 12 and 15. Josh, 35, was also found to have been paying a woman from Ashley Madison – a website known for facilitating extramarital affairs — for sex.
Obviously, all this won’t be easy on poor Anna Duggar, 34, and Amy Duggar King knows it and wants to provide help any way she can lend it.
“With Anna, I have tried. I have sent text messages, I have sent emails. I’ve tried, I’ve tried,” King, 36, exclusively told PEOPLE. “I don’t know if her phone’s being monitored. I don’t know if she’s turned it off [and] she’s gotten a new one. I’ve tried on Instagram, I’ve tried on Twitter. She wants nothing to do with it at all, and that’s her decision.”
King continues, “I understand she has a lot of kids, and I understand that she’s in a very broken place, I’m sure. I don’t want to speak for her. I’m sure that is just heartbreaking, but I also don’t necessarily think she sees it yet. I think it’s going to take a really long time. And if she ever does reach out, I am here for her.”
Anna King Reveals She Invited Anna Duggar And Her Kids To Stay Over At Her Place
King also revealed that she went as far as to offer Anna and her kids space to stay following Josh’s arrest.
“My husband [Dillon] and I actually were talking when all this first came out, and I said, ‘Honey, we have room to welcome all of those kids and Anna into our home. We have bunk beds, we could do something really cool,'” the former reality star recalled.”And he was like, ‘You’re right.’ He was like, ‘We could.’ He was like, ‘Let’s reach out and see what we can do.’
“I offered it, and that’s really all I can do is just hope and pray that she opens her eyes. That’s all you can do,” she said. “Honestly, it sucks. It just sucks because I want to be there and I want to help, and it doesn’t have to involve cameras or fame or anything. It’s just family reaching out to family. Unfortunately, she doesn’t see it.”
She also revealed that even though she’s willing to wholeheartedly help Anna, she would never extend any kind or semblance of friendship to Josh, as she believes that what he did was hideous, as a human, and especially as a father.
