The Duggar Docuseries on Amazon Prime, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, focused on the Duggar family from TLC’s show, Counting On. Duggar Docuseries – Upset The Duggar Family

Jill Dillard took a brave decision when she opened up on the Amazon Prime series. The daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and Jill’s husband Derick were already quite estranged from her parents. After she gave birth to her third son, Freddy, Michelle briefly helped her with the baby. But it’s likely that any reconciliation might have evaporated since she was on the controversial show. Certainly, it’s very clear that her brother Jed is furious about it.

The Duggar docuseries also brought other members of the TLC show. Apart from Jill, her aunt, Deanna, and her cousin, Amy King were featured. However, with respect to that, the focus was on Jill who said that she wanted to have her say about her upbringing in the shadow of the Institute of Basic Life Principles, (BLP). For TLC fans, it didn’t end there, as she revealed that she also wrote a book.

When the news arrived that Simon & Schuster was publishing Derick and Jill’s book, fans found out that it’s called Counting the Cost. In fact, it sounds interesting because the synopsis talks about it being an “unedited truth.” Presumably, as almost every reality TV show, including documentaries can be edited, she will try and give it some balance. It’s going to be a story that hopefully gives her some space to heal. But, did she tell the producers of Shiny Happy People that she’d she’d been writing it?
