Leah Shafer Shares Gentle Side Of Below Deck’s Sandy Yawn

Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck Med seems quite strict on the Bravo show, but this weekend, Leah Shafer showed a gentle side to her. Read on for more details about the sometimes controversial character. 

Work, Engagement, And Marriage

Juggling the high seas with a relationship can’t be all that easy. But, Leah Shafer and Sandy managed to keep things together. They did run into some trouble, and before they wed, they were scammed by a home builder. However, they survived their engagement and later, in 2023, they tied the knot. 

Lots of people like Leah Shafer, but not everyone’s all that keen on Captain Sandy Yawn. Many Below Deck Med fans think she is sometimes too weak a leader, and others think she’s too quick to fire people. However, the only female captain on the Bravo franchise seems to have a good heart. 

The Gentle Side Of Sandy

Taking to Instagram on March 1, Leah shared a video of herself getting her hair done by Captain Sandy Yawn. “I love that you all see this side of Captain Sandy,” Leah wrote, as Yawn brushed out her long hair.

Shafer added, “When your amazing wife helps you blow dry your hair because you have tennis elbow.” Of course, Below Deck Med fans don’t often see the couple just being themselves at home. So, they felt grateful when Leah wrote, “This is the woman that melted my heart.”

Fans React To The Gentle Relationship

In the comments section, one Bravo follower could relate completely, writing, “Haha.. .Right now I’m struggling too with a tennis elbow, so annoying…but my wife is also helping me…soooo lucky.”
