Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps pack their bags and prepare for a Real Housewives spin-off in the teaser for their new show. But as the teaser clip reveals, the Real Housewives Of New York City (RHONY) alums soon realize the differences between Crappie Lake and their upscale NYC lives. And Sonja and Luann get a reality check on their RHONY spin-off, reported the Wrap.

But the two focus on helping the small town that the pandemic hurt. For instance, Morgan and de Lesseps assist in building a new playground. And they even help to bring back the local theater with a variety show. But the RHONY alums also seek to connect with local residents as they get more familiar with the region.

Highlights will include Luann and Sonja looking for crappie fish in the lake with their bare hands and heading out for a close encounter with monster trucks. And the spin-off, titled “Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake,” promises to show how Morgan and de Lesseps learn to appreciate the differences. The new show will premiere on July 9 on Bravo.

Real Housewives Spoilers – RHONY Spin-Off Parallels ‘Simple Life’ 

The RHONY spin-off has earned comparisons to “The Simple Life” for several reasons. First, fans know Luann as an etiquette-obsessed socialite star on the Real Housewives of New York City. And Morgan famously was once wed to John Adams Morgan. Because both RHONY alums have shown their love of luxury, the spin-off “Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake” focuses on the differences between the rural community and big city living. But the spin-off also gives de Lesseps and Morgan the chance to show that they can make the most out of their unusual experience.

Bravo has described “Welcome to Crappie Lake” as beginning with an invitation from the Benton City Council. And the offer reveals that the city council and town residents hope that Real Housewives Of New York City alums Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan can help “spruce up their small town (population just shy of 7,000).” The pandemic “devastated” the small town.

And a “fish-out-of-water experience” results for both the small town residents and the RHONY alums. For instance, the Manhattan socialites discover the differences immediately when they check into the local motel. However, the mayor soon gets Luann and Sonja involved. And Morgan and de Lesseps quickly realize that they need to do some hard work to achieve their goals.
