Sister Wives: Robyn Reveals ‘Perfect Storm’ Sparking Plural Divorces

Find out what the Sister Wives star revealed about her reality TV co-stars. And keep reading to learn what Robyn sees as the catalyst for the polygamous family’s collapse.

Sister Wives Spoilers – What Caused Plural Divorce?

Robyn Brown feels that the Sister Wives clan’s move to Las Vegas proved the catalyst for the collapse of the family’s polygamy. But the Sister Wives star told People that other factors contributed to Janelle, Meri and Christine Brown giving up on their marriage to Kody Brown.

And Robyn recalled what happened when their children became adults. Although the unraveling of relationships began in Las Vegas, the focus shifted as their kids “left home to go live their life,” she said.

And after the move to Flagstaff, Arizona, polygamous patriarch Kody couldn’t hold the family together. Because his wives became “separated geographically,” they “weren’t in each other’s lives as regularly,” added Robyn.

Sister Wives Spoilers – Truths Emerge

And the geographic separation “made us feel more independent of each other,” pointed out Robyn. As a result, it became “easier just to not spend time together. Because it was harder to get in the car and go hang out at someone’s house and then try to figure out if you get through the snow to home and things like that. And so I think that was the next step.”

However, arranging for different homes along with arguments over “living in one home or building one home brought out a lot of truths,” added Robyn. And she exempted herself from causing or contributing to any of the problems.

Instead of looking at her role in the unraveling of the plural marriage, Robyn insisted that many issues “that were a part of their past started to come up. It was before I came in the family, there was these issues about living together that started to come up, and they started talking about that.”

Sister Wives Spoilers – Pandemic Produces ‘Perfect Storm’

And then came COVID. But Robyn clarified that the pandemic turned into a “perfect storm” in their relationships. “We weren’t as united,” she recalled. “And everybody [was] disagreeing about how to handle it. And it became this fight and people were so independent by that point,” she says. “I think it’s just also kind of an age thing.”

And Robyn pointed to the ages of Kody and his other wives as causing a lack of interest. “What I’ve heard, is that you get to a point where you aren’t as interested or care as much,” she said. “Or you just become more independent as a woman in a marriage.” And Robyn feels that factor led to the other wives becoming less “obsessed with or interested as much in” Kody.

And as evidence, Robyn said that she overheard Kody and his other wives “all talk about, ‘Well, I don’t know if I want this anymore.’ Or, ‘I just want something different.’ Or, ‘I used to be OK with this and how this was going,” she quoted. But those changes led to the others feeling “not OK accepting what it’s been.”

Christine and Kody split in November 2021. And Janelle separated from Kody in December 2022. That departure seemingly sparked the end of Meri’s relationship with Kody as well. And Robyn remains in the marriage, looking for answers about the future.
