Teddi Mellencamp Gets Real With Raw Photo Of Surgery Scar

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) fans once claimed that Teddi Mellencamp was boring and gave nothing exciting to the franchise. Well, the Bravo alum is getting a huge amount of attention, not to mention some red-faced fans as she fights off metastatic cancer. This week, she took to social media and shared a vulnerable, raw, and shocking photo of her surgical scars.

The Head Scarring Pic & A Message

Her very short hair got a lot of fans exclaiming how wonderful the Bravo alum looked after surgery. However, on April 28, Teddi Mellencamp exposed the trauma done by the surgical team who had to go in and cut out several large tumors. She’s been vocal about wearing wigs, but for the first time, fans saw the shocking invasive surgery scars that she posted on Instagram.

A long caption reminded RHOBH fans about how the cancer originated with skin cancer before invading her lungs and brain. Despite the vulnerability of her situation, she thought about others. In part, her text read:

When I first looked at this picture, at the scars on my head and my arm, I cried. Then, I felt a warmness rush through my body and felt so much peace. Peace from the incredible support system I have in my family and friends. Peace from the outpouring of love from y’all on here. Peace in knowing my story could help somebody save their life.

Next, the estranged wife of Edwin Arroyave thought about others who struggle, and told them to “go get checked. Advocate for yourself,” adding, “We have got this.”

Fans & Friends React

Friends and co-stars have been so supportive of the equestrian. It’s been a difficult time as she ponders her mortality, and plans for her possible death. Teddi’s aware that walking around in wigs is something she has to get used to for the time being. So, reaching out seems extremely poignant. 

Stars from across the Bravo franchise reacted, and Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck Med said, “You are a beacon of hope.” Her stalwart friend who was there for her during her original skin cancer, Kyle Richards, posted up several red heart emojis. 

Acknowledging the strength it took to share the vulnerable photo, Scheana Shay, formerly on Vanderpump Rules, wrote, “You are soooooo strong mama!!!!”
