The Bachelorette Spoilers – Claire Crawley Was Hesitant

But Clare was hesitant to return to The Bachelor franchise. Her interaction with Juan Pablo influenced her psyche. She didn’t like how she was portrayed in the series. During her interview with Olivia Caridi’s podcast, Mouthing Off, she blamed the producers for making her look bad.

“Why would you guys make me look like this?” Clare exclaimed, as quoted by Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “Why would you guys edit things to look that way when that didn’t even happen.” She was referring to the time when the show made it look like Clare and Juan hooked up in the ocean, which she denies.

She called her experience “traumatizing” and says she was “absolutely” hesitant to return to the franchise ever again. Following The Bachelor, Clare said she was previously considered for the role of the bachelorette.

“We had definitely talked about it,” Clare continued. “I had interviews and I got flown down to [L.A.] a couple of times.”

But due to how she was portrayed in the series, Clare didn’t want to accept anything because she “was not emotionally in a place [where she was] ready for that.” In addition, Clare’s mother was “really, really, really sick” at the time. She often watched the Bachelor “from the ICU” by her mom’s bedside.

Clare’s season of The Bachelorette has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She wrote on Instagram that she’s “excited for my journey to begin.” But she can wait a little longer since she “waited 38 years for these moments.”
