The Cleaning Lady fandom is not happy that new episodes of the crime thriller are not being aired. The network recently announced that there are no more new episodes, instead directing fans to watch the third season on Hulu.

‘The Cleaning Lady’ Officially Announces Show Is Taking A Break Following Season 3

Fans are yet to watch any new episode of ‘The Cleaning Lady’ since April 16. The show’s official Instagram page recently alerted fans to the fact that the show is taking a break after airing its third season’s final episodes.

However, this announcement did not sit right with fans, with one writing, “We want more please. I hope they start filming new season.” Others however wanted to understand why there wouldn’t be any new episodes of the hit show.

“Why is the cleaning Lady not gonna be on tomorrow?” one fan asked in the comment section, with another wondering, “What happened no more shows why.”

The reason for this comes down to the double Hollywood strikes which took place last year. At the time, SAG-AFTRA and WGA campaigned for better residuals, to protect the jobs of creatives from AI, and more. Due to the strikes lasting as long as it did, several shows were delayed.

For ‘The Cleaning Lady,’ it meant fewer episodes.

To keep themselves occupied before the new episodes are ready to air, the show’s fans have suggested they share behind-the-scenes footage from the show.

Unfortunately, having fewer episodes isn’t the only thing that’s broken ‘The Cleaning Lady’s’ fans’ hearts in recent times.

Earlier this month, the show paid tribute to one of its casts, Adan Canto, 42, who died on January 8, 2024 following a private battle with appendiceal cancer. On the April 9 episode of ‘The Cleaning Lady,’ his character made his last appearance.

The tear-jerking episode saw Canto’s ‘The Cleaning Lady’ character die following a huge shootout between the authorities and his kidnappers. The episode ended with the words, “In Loving Memory of Adan Canto.”

Canto appeared in 25 episodes of ‘The Cleaning Lady’ and was one of the show’s most beloved characters.
