British Royal News: Queen Elizabeth Wanted Meghan Markle To Make Up With Her Father

British Royal News says that Queen Elizabeth had hoped that Meghan Markle would have made the first step in reconciling with her estranged father, Thomas Markle. As many royal fans know, the Duchess of Sussex stopped talking to her father after she and Prince Harry had discovered that he was working with the paparazzi to stage a photoshoot of him right before their wedding in 2018. If that weren’t enough, he also sold the contents of a letter that she wrote to him to the press, too. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Katie Nicholl in her new book, “The New Royals,” she said that Queen Elizabeth did her best to try and convince Meghan Markle to repair her relationship with her estranged father. Unfortunately, Meghan was having none of it.

She wrote in her book, “The Queen could see how damaging the situation was between Meghan and her father and she did speak to Meghan about it and tried to encourage her to talk to Thomas. The whole thing was quite badly handled with Thomas Markle and it if had been done differently, it would have come out better.”

Back in July, it was reported in another book that Meghan had also acted viscously towards her father. In his unauthorized biography, Bower says that he was most horrified after hearing about how Meghan had treated her own father in the past. “For a daughter who owed her father everything to turn so viciously against him – and reduce a proud, successful man to such misery – was a shocking and terrible thing,” he claimed.

He also said that Thomas claimed that his estrangement from his daughter was “emotionally disheartening.” What’s more, Thomas also said that he had offered to come visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle several times in the past, but was shot down each time. Thomas only lives a short drive south of the border in Mexico from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s multi-million estate in Montecito.

“She can plead that she is a philanthropist and an activist, but if you treat your father like that, then you’re none of those things,” he wrote.
