During this meeting, there will be an interview along with a secret test. In order to be considered for employment, applicants must pass this test.

The Fly Test

Apparently, a dead fly is put somewhere in the room where the interview is being conducted. In one example, an applicant was somehow directed to the fireplace, either before or after the interview. If the applicant noticed the fly and removed it, then they successfully passed. However, this test isn’t just for housekeepers. It is reported that even nannies and other potential staff members must pass this secret test.

Reason For the Test

The reason for this is because it shows attention to detail. It also provides insight on how future staff members will deal with certain situations. The last thing one wants to do is make it obvious they are picking up a dead fly. It should be done swiftly and discreetly.
