Modern Family Star Talks About Meghan Markle’s Early Hollywood Days

Before Meghan Markle began her relationship with Prince Harry, she was just a little girl who not only dreamed of making it big one day in Hollywood, but also happened to hang out behind the scenes of some of the biggest television shows.

As a matter of fact, Modern Family star Ed O’Neil opened up about the Duchess of Sussex, recalling when she used to hang out with her father, Thomas Markle Senior, on the set of Married With Children.

O’Neil played the often grumpy Al Bundy on the highly-rated comedy from 1987 until 1997.

O’Neill Recognized Markle During Ellen DeGeneres’ Who’s This? Game

During Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, the actor played a game of ‘Who’s This?’ He was supposed to name celebrities after seeing photographs of them on the big screen. When a photo of Meghan Markle appeared, the actor recognized her, saying: “Oh, that’s Markle. Right? Oh, my gosh, you tried to fool me.”

He then said, “By the way, she grew up on the set of Married…with Children. Did you know that? Her father was a camera operator, and she used to come on the set in a little Catholic school uniform. She was, like, 9.”

Ellen then joked that Ed should have obviously gotten to know Meghan a little bit better! Not only is a member of the royal family now, but also one of the biggest names in the celebrity world.

Married With Children Was The Antithesis Of The Cosby Show In The 1980s

Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry are also expecting their first child together.

Married With Children was considered the antithesis of the Cosby Show during the late 1980’s. The series revolved around Al’s life as a family man and a shoe salesman, his wife, Peggy and their two children, Kelly and Bud.

The series also starred Katey Sagel, Christina Applegate and David Faustino and was considered one of the best comedies of its time.
