Apparently, a spokesperson for the Sussexes say that their two-hour chase with the paparazzi could have been proven fatal. Yet, other reports suggest that a high-speed chase around Manhattan would be nearly impossible seeing how the city always sees bumper-to-bumper traffic.

When one person wrote on Twitter, “I don’t want to seem too flippant but unless you are recreating the car chase from The French Connection , to have 2 hour car chase through Manhattan’s streets seems most unlikely?” Piers responded with, “There was no 2-hour chase, their story is unraveling by the minute.”

Yet, a spokesperson for the Sussexes said earlier in the day, “Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.

This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers. While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety.”

Is Piers Morgan Right?

Of course, many critics and internet sleuths have certainly weighed in on the matter. Some have commented with, “Two hour chase. How man? stop lights going from downtown to uptown Manhattan do you think they ran into? Imagine the engines revving as they prepare to go when the lights turned green.”

But another critic said, “Whether it was 2 hours, 1 hour or whatever, it shouldn’t have happened, put yourself in Harry’s place, he’ll have straight away remembered how his mum died, but obviously that won’t matter to you, you’ll just pick & pick & slag them off as usual, still gutted she turned you down.”
