Prince Harry Admits All Of The James Hewitt Paternity Rumors Made Him Paranoid

Prince Harry admits that all of the rumors suggesting Princess Diana’s ex-boyfriend James Hewitt was his real father gave him a reason to be paranoid.

That’s because when he just heard about the rumor for the first time as a teen, he was worried that the royals would kick him out of the family. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duke of Sussex said that all of the speculation on whether or not Princess Diana’s former lover James Hewitt was actually his biological father made him quite upset and worse, paranoid that he would be ousted from the royal family.

Not only that, but Harry also said that he felt as though the rumors and all of the tabloid headlines were both cruel and hurtful, especially since he was just a young boy when they first came out.

Harry told the judge in his court case against the Mirror News Group that he was just 18 when he heard “a rumor that my biological father was James Hewitt, a man my mother had a relationship with after I was born.”

The Duke of Sussex explained, “At the time of this article and others similar to it, I wasn’t actually aware that my mother hadn’t met Major Hewitt until after I was born.

This timeline is something I only learnt of in around 2014. At the time, when I was 18 years old and had lost my mother just six years earlier, stories such as this felt very damaging and very real to me. They were hurtful, mean and cruel. I was always left questioning the motives behind the stories.”

Harry continued, “Were the newspapers keen to put doubt into the minds of the public so I might be ousted from the Royal Family?”

What’s Next For Prince Harry?

Of course, the Duke of Sussex has been adamant that King Charles is certainly his real father. That has never been disputed. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space.
