Royal commentators are raising concerns following King Charles’ private meet-up with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, with some warning it could have long-term implications for the monarchy.
A Podcast Full Of Opinions
Journalist Dan Wootton broke down the details on a recent episode of the Windsor podcast. He highlighted warnings from Katie Nicholl. Katie Nicholl is a New York Times bestselling author and royal expert.

She serves as Royal Correspondent for Vanity Fair, and The Mail on Sunday, and co-hosts the Dynasty podcast, per Champion Speakers.
The podcast showed clips of her speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored. Nicholl questioned the king’s choices. “How long can the king, who has been incredibly generous in extending the olive branch…how far can Harry and Meghan continue to push it?” she asked.
Wootton strongly agreed. He questioned if Prince Harry should remain a counselor of state or keep his place in the line of succession.
PDina Weighs In
Wootton discussed the situation with entertainment reviewer PDina. They focused heavily on the couple’s motives. PDina suggested that Meghan still holds a deep influence over Harry’s choices.
According to her view, “any leeway you give to Harry is going to pass over to Meghan.” She noted that the couple seems to be “trying to dictate things for their own careers.”
The Security Question
The debate moved to Harry’s legal battles over security. Wootton pointed out that bringing the family to the UK contradicts Harry’s claims that the country is too unsafe.
Wootton argued there could be another motive. He claimed Harry needs footage “at Althorp” for an upcoming documentary about Princess Diana to “up the value” of their media deals.
PDina disagreed slightly on the motivation. She thinks Harry truly wants his children to connect with their grandfather. However, she believes internal arguments are causing chaos. “It is Meghan making these problems for Harry,” she shared.
Megyn Kelly Joins The Debate
The conversation also highlighted Megyn Kelly speaking with Paul Murray on Sky News Australia. Kelly gave a biting review of Harry’s recent courtroom losses.
She said that “it’s yet another instance of Harry playing the fake victim.” Kelly accused the couple of suing every reporter who writes something negative.
She suggested he should support anti-drunk-driving campaigns instead of fighting the press, arguing that Diana died in a crash involving an intoxicated driver rather than solely because of paparazzi.
PR Expert Opens Up
The podcast also featured PR expert Jackie Vor on the Paula Frolic Uncensored podcast. Vor described the couple’s media strategy as erratic.
She noted that Harry is “attacking the press and then asking the press to leak stories so that he can get his way.” Vor claimed she has a “horrible feeling that we’re seeing a breakdown in plain sight.”
PDina agreed with this assessment, saying she believed the couple’s public behavior reflected a “complete breakdown of the marriage” and raised concerns about what she described as Harry’s mental state.
Commentators will probably continue debating how the palace will handle the ongoing tension, but they agree the situation is complex.
Viewers React
Some folks seem skeptical that a meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles actually happened, or will happen. One of them wrote, ‘Who genuinely believes they actually had a meet-up?’
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- “There’s so much ‘supposition’ flooding SM. If there was a meeting, the question should be ‘WHY’ and what was said in that meeting, but hey, bash the King first. I’ll wait for the actual facts.”
- “They came to LEECH off the Monarchy with this sympathy visit.”
- “Who cares if Harry never comes back to Britain again! Why is Harry still in the line of succession? That’s crazy as he left the firm of the royal family years ago!”
