Prince Harry And Meghan’s Claims About Being CUT OFF Financially – The Truth Revealed

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle British Royal family news reveals during Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex’s tell-all interview with Oprah, he complained that his family basically left him with nothing when he stepped away from royal life with his wife. According to him, his move to Canada would not have happened had he not inherited around £10 million from his late mother Princess Diana.

But the Royal Family’s annual financial statement released on Wednesday tells a different story.

Inside Harry’s Claims At Receiving No Financial Support After His And Wife Meghan’s Exit

The Duke of Sussex, 36, told Oprah, during his explosive March interview with the American chat show host, that his family abandoned him financially almost immediately he and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals.

The British Royal Family recently released its annual report accounting for their income and expenditures made from April 1, 2020 to March 31 of this year. A spokesperson for Clarence House confirmed that the reports clearly show that Charles continued to fund Prince Harry and Meghan Markle until the summer of 2020.

In the report, it was stated that Prince Charles paid his sons Prince William and Harry, along with their families, roughly £4.5 million ($6.2 million) bill for the Prince among other expenditures.

It’s a drop of roughly £1.2 million in the financial year following the withdrawal of the Sussexes as working royals, which was completed in March last year.

A senior Clarence House spokesperson told The Independent that even though Charles supported the Sussex couple with a “substantial amount” of money to build their lives after their big move to North America, they are now financially independent thanks to very profitable deals with Spotify and Netflix.

“As we’ll all remember in January 2020 when the duke and duchess announced that they were going to move away from the working royal family, the duke said that they would work towards becoming financially independent,” the spokesperson told the outlet. “The Prince of Wales allocated a substantial sum to support them with this transition. That funding ceased in the summer of last year. The couple are now financially independent.”

This revelation, of course, is in contrast to what Harry said during his sit-down with Oprah. He claimed in the interview that he was cut off financially in the first quarter of 2020, which is in clear contrast to the released documents.

Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not responded to requests for comments made by media outlets as to the discrepancy between the couple’s words and the accounts.

However, a spokesperson for the couple defended their statement, saying that the line from the Oprah interview was simply being misunderstood. The spokesperson further said that Harry was speaking about the first quarter of the fiscal reporting year in the U.K., which runs from April to July.

“This is the same date that the ‘transitional year’ of the Sandringham agreement began and is aligned with the timeline that Clarence House referenced.”

Harry And Meghan Are Now Financially Independent From The Crown

Prince Harry insisted, at the time of his interview, that Charles had stopped taking his phone calls and that he and Markle were only able to relocate to California successfully as a result of the money he inherited from his mother.

In September last year, it was announced that the couple had signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce exclusive content such as documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming. A few months later, a similar deal with Spotify to produce content through their new company, Archewell Audio, was announced.

Regardless of any timeline, the Sussexes are now living financially independent of the Crown, according to the annual report.
